I just don’t see what’s so complicated about this whole mess. Your qb isn’t good, face it and put in someone else (finally got that one). Your coaches aren’t very good either, face it and buy some better ones. Your scouts are certainly horrible so please get some better ones (maybe go after the guys who keep getting all your rivals their talent). Your oline can’t consistently play well whether it’s a pass or a run so face it and get some better players and push your current ones back in the depth chart. Your defense has two solid players (Seymour and Asomugha), everyone else in my opinion can be replaced so let them know that they just aren’t good enough to stop offenses in the nfl and push them back in the depth chart or cut them and get better players. I’d like to see the defense play less if our offense could stay on the field more but even when we have (the first game of the year), we still couldn’t stop the run then. Davis should just accept that the players he gets, like JR, DHB,Higgens,Walker,Eugene,Johnson,Kelly and Mitchell aren’t panning out on the field or even playing for that matter. This is dysfunction at it’s best, I don’t even have enough time to list all the players we have who don’t really belong in football.

Honestly, like always the biggest problem is the DRAFT. Al’s nitch for finding talent is sumbmerged by his ability to pass on it. We have drafted 3 Pro Bowlers in what 20 yrs?? That is astronimical!!! Most teams get that many in 5 yrs. The scouts are Al Davis and AL Davis. I love the man, but seriously cannot wait until he steps down. We should have got Boldin to complement Shilens and drafted Raji or Orakpo. That would have been logical, but hey thats the Raiders. Trade deadline comes up, coulda made a play for Bowe…..nah we will just keep these bums we have. We should have been the first team to go into fire-sale mode! Who knows what is going on in AL’s head anymore.

    Dear DHB,

Please take off the # 12 jersey. You are not worthy of donning such an important number to the Raider Nation. The more you wear it, the more you disgrace it, the more you disgrace it, the more shame you bring to the “Snake” and Gannon for what they have achieved in it. Wear number 88 for the number of dropped catchable balls you will have by seasons end. Thank you.

    Sincerally,

    The Nation

wexler can you post ALL of AL DAVIS comments and press conferences for the past two years.if you do,raider nation will see what his intentions are now and in the near future.he’s not that hard to figure out.kiffin wanted D.Hall to shut down the pass defense;kiffin wanted the best available WR at the time in Javon Walker;kiffin wanted depth at the d-line;kiffin did not want JR-what QB would kiffin have drafted, instead of Mcfadden.imagine where the raiders would be,now.kiffin wanted veterans, for his first year;kiffin wanted to control the draft-which is why he was hired;kiffin wanted his father as the d-coordinator,which is what the raiders would have had this year;kiffin was misled from the start and realized it after the first year.AL DAVIS thought he could win in kiffins first year, unrealistic.AL DAVIS doesn’t know what loyalty and trust is.most normal people would have given their heirs control or more say of the team, after 50+ years in the game.most people mock,Farve, for coming back, but forget that the teams he has played for recently, have the been arguably the best offensive lines in football.i don’t understand why ANYONE would trust AL DAVIS.the raiders moving to L.A. is a joke.he sued L.A. when the team left in the 80’s.where did the report, that the raiders were among the teams that would possibly be contacted about moving there come from.i highly doubt the raiders are even considered.

  8. runraiderrun says:

wex,you said the raiders didn’t blitz the Jets because the raiders were expecting heavy doses of the run.are you saying that AL DAVIS had nothing to do with that?do you also believe that AL DAVIS had nothing to do with the JR benching?of course you’re aware that these are related.if a coach or team could in anyway take the lifeline away from their opponent, why wouldn’t they.i’d like to see a former raiders’ coach/personnels’ contract, just to see what is allowed to be said about their time with the raiders.asking Mike Lombardi with that request would be somewhat amusing.i’d like to even see your media agreement/guidelines with the raiders.i would expect the site to be diminishing because the last two games summed the season up,it’s a mute point now.all that is left to report is that the team is getting healthy and whatever Seymour says.

  9. runraiderrun says:

1)is mike bush hurt-he doesn’t seem right to me.(2)is Al Davis ever going to retire or get fired?(3)wildcat?should just be our basic offense(4)franchise QB with no o-line,again(5)just don’t blitz,baby(6)made the team, but i don’t play,o.k.(7)just need to execute,we’re getting there(8)nobody in the organization reads or watches?(9)are we waiting for one player to get on the field?

“However, more and more players are voicing their doubts, concerns, disappointment with Russell’s play and demeanor.”

Of course, Russell need to mature personally, improve work ethic, hone his skills, and get his face in the playbook. How people parlay that into giving the Raiders the best chance of winning mystifying.
If you can, replay all the preseason games. Review Russell’s manipulation of the offense (if you can find it) and compare to Grads. No comparison. Grads keeps drives alive and moves the offense to the goaline and in, consistently. Grads is not the future but he gets better results for million$ less AND GIVES US THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN NOW! Haven’t seen enough of the Oakland Frye to comment.
DHB got open and from what I saw, caught the ball on his own and fought the Jets secondary and it took three of them to get him out of bounds standing cause DHB was fighting them. That, along with Grads’ scramble, were the Raider highlights last game. DHB is far from polished, but don’t blame him for Davis making him our first pick. The kid is hard-working model teammate and is trying hard to meet the expectations that should never have been put on him by Davis. That said, give him some quick outs (like Murphy and the rest of the WR’s in the league get)and lets see what he can do. Let’s not forget great WR’s who couldn’t catch in their rookie years, DHB ain’t the first.
The off season focus should be bolstering our lines so that we can have great ones like all other winning teams have. Lets be frank, 2010 will be a rebuilding year to .500 so get the lines righted and fix the peripherals as they can.
