Tom Cable is going to remain the Raiders coach for the rest of the season. That’s the way he sees the situation, anyway.
Cable said Wednesday after leading his troops through practice for the first time since allegations surfaced Sunday about his alleged history of physical abuse toward women in his life the past 20 years or so that he expects to make it through the season.
Cable said he met with managing general partner Al Davis within the past two days and that they talked about the state of the Raiders.
“Al and I have spoken,” Cable said. “What we talked about is between us and, we’ll keep it that way.”
The Raiders issued a statement Monday that said the team would “undertake a serious evaluation of the matter” in light of ESPN’s story about Cable’s alleged pattern of physical abuse.
For his part, Cable said he and Davis talked about ways to improve the team’s fortunes in the second half of the season after a 2-6 mark the first half.
“We didn’t even talk about that,” Cable said of his job security. “We talked about, like you’re supposed to, the team, personnel moves, the second half and upcoming (games). Those are not issues for us to discuss. There’s no need to right now. Right now, it’s about trying to turn it around and get us on track.”
Furthermore, Cable said he stands by his statement Sunday that he slapped his first wife more than 20 years ago and that he has not done anything like that since, as was alleged by a recent girlfriend and his second wife – she issued a statement contradicting her original claim in a divorce document of being physically abused by Cable.
Cable said he is staying the course and that he expects to be the Raiders coach the rest of this season, even though Davis hasn’t given any such assurance.

I notice the twisted sick femininsts of the NOW group have voiced their displeasure of Coach Cable !! Funny thing is how hypocritical the NOW group is !! I cant turn on a tv show anymore without some woman hitting a man! Or for that matter a woman beating up a bunch of men somehow at the same time! Point is,,,,something 20 years ago,,,they try to make something of,,,while Hollywood mockes the male and has women beating up on and hitting men left and right! The Raiders need to get rid of Cable, JBust, DHB, DMac, and 3 of the 5 0-lineman. Lets start there and move on. If we can get some guys with heart, that would also help. I just cannot believe the mess this team is. JBust is horrible! DHB cannot catch a cold! DMac goes down with injury when he is touched. This front office drafting has been very bad in the last couple of years. The second half of these drafts are turning out better than the first rounders. I just wish we could get rid of these players and coaches and move on. This season is already over after 8 games.

Personel changes? I bet that was a very long discussion indeed. Well I vote for Cable to be let go as well as JR and all the other idiots who can’t seem to be able to play good football consistently. Cable also needs to stop putting on the beer goggles when he goes out looking for strange, he probably was scared to death when he woke up with them women and it was just a reflex reaction.
