NOW CABLE HAS MORE WOMAN TROUBLE

ESPN.com is reporting the National Organization for Women wants Raiders coach Tom Cable suspended while the team investigates allegations that Cable has a history of violent behavior toward women.
In an e-mailed statement to USA Today on Wednesday, NOW president Terry O’Neill said, “Tom Cable’s history of violence against woman raises a question: why is he still the head coach of an NFL team?

“The Oakland Raiders, properly, say they are undergoing a ’serious evaluation’ of these recent allegations. At the very least he should be suspended during this process. … A man who has admitted battering his wife has no business being a role model for all of us who would like to be able to look up to the head coach of an NFL football team.”

Cable admitted to hitting his first wife, Sandy Cable, with an open hand more than 20 years ago.  He says it was the only time he has ever touched a woman inappropriately.

On Thursday, Cable said he doesn’t feel as if his job will be influenced by outside forces.

“I don’t think so,” Cable said. “I think it will be handled properly. I’m going to leave it at that right now.”

Cable added that he and managing general partner Al Davis have not spoken again about the allegations since their original discussion earlier this week.
“We talked pretty much, as I said, from Wednesdays on we talk a lot about football, personnel and those kinds of things,” Cable said. “We put that, not necessarily behind us, but we’ve had that discussion and we’ve moved on to the football team.”

I wonder how much time and effort ESPN put into this whole thing. These women sure didn’t have much to say when Cable was named head coach or at any other time for that matter. Don’t get me wrong, I want Cable gone for the fact that he can’t coach football to save his life but not for the fact that all the women he’s involved with are butt ugly.
