A track star with good hands, it must have been hard for the Raiders to wait as long as they did during the NFL draft for wide receiver Jacoby Ford. The Raiders traded up in the fourth round to take Ford, the fastest player available in the 2010 NFL Draft. Ford is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. His burst and acceleration to full speed are unmatched by anyone entering the league this year. Only his lack of size, 5-foot -9 and 186 pounds kept Ford from being drafted much higher.
Ford will immediately take over the kick return duties and will fight for time in the slot position with wide receiver Johnnie Lee Higgins. Ford is an above average blocker and is not afraid to go over the middle and make the tough catch. Higgins fell out of favor with the coaching staff last season when the staff felt he became cautious after taking a couple huge hits during games. Higgins fought hard to work his way back on the field and made 5 of his 19 total receptions in the last two games of the season.
Wide receiver has been a sore spot for the Raiders since the departure of Tim Brown and Jerry Rice. The Raiders hope Ford combined with last year’s pleasant surprise Louis Murphy, a more seasoned Darius Heyward-Bey and a healthy Chaz Schilens will give new quarterback Jason Campbell plenty of open targets downfield.

Whiney primadonnas? How on EARTH are DHB and McFadden whiney or primadonnas? Both are supposedly great workout guys and want to be stars… As well as leaders… And “stubbed toe” lol I would LOVE to see you get turf toe and see you walk around with it, let alone try to play an NFL game… Until you’ve had turf toe you simply DO NOT understand the pain it entails.
But remember all this when McFadden is solid this year… He will be I have NO doubt, and those are saying to cut him will look VERY stupid.

you gotta be kidden me. he’s been in the league 2 years and sure he stumbles sometimes (and i curse him) but he has immense potential. bush should be our no.1 i agree but mcfadden is a better runner than reggie bush in my opinion he just hasn’t been used properly yet. we saw a glimpse last year of his potential. he will be solid for years to come but as a complimentary and situational back.
I think he will be more than that. Of course time will tell, but the guy is a game changer, and like you said could well be better than Reggie Bush, he just has to get things going right… I think this year will be a breakout season; finally a QB in the backfield, and a little better OL…

who in there right mind would pick up Jabigmac, unless they wanted to scale down there playbook. the guy has the tools (huge arm, size, some mobillaty) but no smarts and no work ethic. or any kinda ethic at all. he’s a thief and a sloth. could have been something, but sadly he just assumed it would just come his way. no wonder cable appeared to be a lousy oc, he was limited by the plays Jahumpbackwhale could remember. watch and see the difference this year will be with a qb that has a brain

I don’t know what you guys are talking about. I haven’t had a chance to see any of that. I did hear that he wanted to buy the Oakland Raiders along with some partners. Also, that Plunkett and Roger Craig wanted to buy together the Raiders…. I think Cube loves the Raiders. But like I said, I haven’t seen anything of what you guys are talking about. DHB cut. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Bush & Dmac. (Thunder & Lightning). When you don’t have a QB or experienced WR’s then you don’t have a running game. Plus like I said. I love Cable, but he is a terrible OC. thats not his strength and he found that out.. With Hue Jackson in there it will be different. This year they will be better, but next year they will be unstoppable……. Everybody is going to sound so silly when they all start to say. i always backed him up. I knew he would be great. Watch……..

Yea he showed the potential for lots of fumbles and two yard runs! As far as playing an nfl game with turf toe you’re right,I don’t know what that’s like. I do know all to well however what turf toe is like! My sr year in high school I started all 11 games we played at linebacker with what the doctor diagnosed as moderate turf toe. The same as McFadden’s was classified by Raiders team orthopedic dr. Warren King. And was doing it because I loved playing the game! I didn’t have 4 or 5 million worth of incentives like he did. He’s a punk!!!!!
lol yeah dude I don’t believe that for a second. I played football with turf toe and basically couldn’t run… So I don’t believe you’re running full speed with that for a second, no matter how much you love football… and don’t forget he’s a SPEED based RB, without his speed he’s nothing.
And fumbles? Adrian Peterson fumbles a lot, would you want him on your team?
You’ll see man, remember this when 8 games in he has 500 rushing yards and is playing well because A. He’s utilized well from a good OC, B. Has an upgrade on the offensive line and C. (and most importantly) he’s playing with an NFL QB so he won’t face 8 men in the box all game.

I for one am absolutely looking forward to Ford taking JLH’s job. Not only was JLH lacking effort on a lot of plays that I saw, he didn’t seem very upset when he would make bone headed plays over and over on the field. I know that ST’s haven’t been a great bunch as a whole of late but JLH looked even worse returning punts. I think Ford will be far superior as both a KR/PR and a Wes Welker type over the middle. Get him in the open field with a blocker or two and Ford is flat gone. At Clemson, once teams learned to NOT kick it to Spiller, would then get burned by Ford and would eventually just kick it out of bounds.
how can anyone hate on the ice cube special! every single bit of it was true. the raiders took over l.a.! the best part of the whole thing was when the president told al davis that the soviet union thought he was harboring a weapon of mass destruction, talking about marcus allen, who by the way, is my favorite raider ever. it was a shame what happened between him and al, but we will never know the true story.

Just saw the Ice Cube “Straight out a L.A.” on DVR. I loved it!!
It did made me sad and hurt when I saw what Al and Allen were feuding and how Al said that Marcus Allen was a Raider “at one point he was”.
As a Raiders fan who was too small to remember the L.A. Raiders it was really nice to learn that Al Davis was sooo close in moving the team to .. (cant remember city name) but thank god they didnt move there.. and then how Al was about to get a new state of the art stadium and refused because he didnt wanted to share.
It did made me think that The Raider DO need a new stadium

We just got a glimpse that Al Davis wouldnt hesitate moving back to L.A. when or if the stadium is build. Problem being,… he wont share with another team and I think the NFL wants 2teams in L.A.
