10. Because face it they have to get better at some point and you have already put in the time.
9. Quarterback Jason Campbell is not the answer to, “Who is the biggest bust in NFL history?”
8. All Pro cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha on any given Sunday.
7. Managing general partner Al Davis knows where you live.
6. First round draft pick middle linebacker Rolando McClain is going to bring fear to those that venture into the middle of the field.
5. Everything you own is either black or silver.
4. It’s less painful than getting the tattoo removed.
3. Quarterback JaMarcus Russell has not joined another team so you just don’t know who else to cheer for yet.
2. Tight end Zach Miller has a chance to go to the pro-bowl this season.
1. No matter what, the Raiders are never boring….

@ insanity20mike,
poor ghetto oakland has an major airport, multiple Bart stations, a professional stadium to watch sports and concerts, and arena to watch major sports and concerts, etc, round the clock public transportation, ports and terminals for major international imports/exports, and a number of other things..not that poor..and they aint going to LA
actual pictures of Al in the opposing teams locker, that would scare the crap out of our opponents, talk about home field advantage…
i will be a raider fan no matter where they go. but FU*K L.A. oakland is where the raiders have spilled blood for decades! and if you don’t remember L.A. is not a football town (as a whole). I don’t want Darren Mcfadden dating a cardashian and Simon Cowell commenting at halftime. i relish every moment i have at this stadium. while the cowboys fans enjoy their $15 dollar hot dogs and lean back in their $500 seats to watch movie previews in 3D on the biggest LCD on the planet. I’ll be standing on my $2 green plastic abortion of a stadium seat double fisting coors light and cheering when McClain kicks dirt in the eyes of the opposing RB after he knocks him out. NO PUSSY FOOTBALL IN OAKLAND!! RAIDERS ARE STAYING RIGHT HERE.
Keep representing Mudville. RAIDERS 4 LIFE!
irjonny, u almost made me cry brother that was beautiful, cheers to that!!!
Win, Lose or Tie….Raider Till I Die!!!!
whatever happened to j fargas?? did he sign with anyone???
Nope,he’s still out there…
jesus! what’s going on with seymour? i’m starting to worry.
irjonny24
hey bro if i were seymour i would wait til school is out before i sign my contract , and i am sure that is what he is waiting for . i know seymour will sign ..
he wants to miss as most of training camp as he can, same shit favre is doing, he knows hes coming back, he just wont say so he can miss training camp, they’re veterans with super bowl rings they can afford to do that without getting in trouble…
Thats exactly why we wont be getting much better this year or even the next 3.Overpaid players who come to oakland to retire.Hey even rookies do that these days in oaktown. What we need is a few leaders to over achieve and over care so that this cycle of Whatever stops. This team is so far from that and seymore is a prime example.I still love my Raiders though.I don’t remember Jason Camble doing anything in Wash.I guess it’s ok to think positve but the last three busts we picked and the a coach thats never won anywhere doesn’t mack me feel goosbumps all over.I don’t think peaple realize just how far we’ve been set back by some real sht for luck lately along with big egos.I still don’t like Lane Kiffen but the guy was right on the money about a few things.Come on Al Just win Baby!!!
singlelunch or i mean lynchsingle
do me a favor go pack me a lunch shut you mouth know your rule understand, what in the blue hell are you talkin about , i think when you wrote this crap , i believe you were drunk , and thas ok cause i drink to and i dont think i type this stupid shhhh , so next time you type , being your positive stuff on the blog
THANK YOU
Just having an average QB is a HUGE upgrade over the worst QB in the history of the game. This team is moving in the right direction. Sure, we should be cautious with expectations, but at least the team has a chance now, and the weaknesses will stand out so they can be fixed in the offseason like a normal team. Russell was so bad we don’t really know what we have. Playing against 8 or even 9 in the box made it impossible to run, and it hurt the defense with constant 3 and outs. Teams have to play the Raiders honestly now. This will make all of the units at least a little better. I’m hoping for 8-8, because the next step is the playoffs - yes, playoffs!
is it marty’s team just turning into NORV’s team?? LOL
work your magic norvell!!
That echoes the attitude of Chargers G.M. A.J. Smith, who said he has no idea if the unsigned players — receivers Vincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd, tackle Marcus McNeill and linebacker Shawne Merriman — will ever play for the Chargers again. Turner and Smith clearly want to send a message that they’re worrying about the players who are participating in the offseason program and not the players who are sitting out.
spwn747, thank you, hate those negative a-holes
man i cant wait for the first Raiders-Chokers game, its gonna be great kicking their ass for the first time in years…

We previously noted that Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey may have a better year in 2010 because he’ll be playing with a better quarterback. The same could be true of Raiders left tackle Mario Henderson.
Speaking with reporters at the Raiders’ organized team activities, Henderson praised new quarterback Jason Campbell for having the proper footwork when he drops back to pass — making it easier for Henderson to know how to block for him. And while Henderson didn’t criticize JaMarcus Russell by name, his comments suggest that he found it frustrating to block for Russell.
“Now I can get adjusted as to where [Campbell] steps up in the pocket, [and] I know he’s accurate, as far if it’s a seven-step drop, I know he’ll take seven; if it’s five, I know he’s going to take five,” Henderson said. “That’s good to be accurate.”
While Russell suffered from lethargy addiction, Henderson praises the hard work and study habits of Campbell.
“For him to be able to come here, be able to grasp the offense and take control of it as fast as he did, it’s amazing,” Henderson said of Campbell. “It just goes to show you the type of guy he is and the type of hard worker and studier he is.”
Just as Russell’s three years in Oakland showed the type of hard worker and studier he is.

Life after Russell looks so much sweeter, the season can’t come fast enough…
ok dont get me wrong when i say this but i am gettin worried about our Defence , we are hearing good thinks about our Offence , which is good but what is that saying for our defence right now
It’s very difficult not to be excited for what’s to come this year! I have big expectations and hopes for JC - I feel that he’s a perfect fit for our team! The squad looks quite promising. I agree with the earlier comments regarding the search for a vet WR. I don’t mean to suggest that our kids can’t do it, we have a bright and exciting future at WR but I do believe that we can benefit from some vet leadership at every position…just like Seymour and Ellis brought to our line last year. Incidentally, I really don’t think Seymour is on his way out…i think he is just getting a little time off to rest the body, and frankly I think he deserves it…whatever it takes to keep our stud lineman healthy and happy…hopefully a long term deal will be part of that equation.
As for the return game, it’ll be nice to see Ford back there. Is Miller a lock for a spot back there or is Figurs gonna challenge him for it… We didn’t sign Figurs so early to be a camp body did we?
Also, I am definitely behind DMc and DHB. Hopefully they just needed a little time (and help/ stability up front) to make their mark…sounds reminiscent of our talk about Mike Huff last year doesn’t it? Look how he turned out.
I guess the point is,
IT’S A GREAT TIME FOR RAIDER FOOTBALL MY FRIENDS!!!
The season can’t come soon enough!
Nice read Raider Roy,thanks. It makes sense to me,I always felt bad for our WRs,you don’t really think about how Russell effected our O linemen. It just goes to show your offense, your entire team for that matter,is only as good as your QB…I’ve mentioned this before and I’ll mention it again. In 2008 when we were playing the Panthers, you guys remember when Peppers was sticking it to Kwame Harris,Harris got shaken up and had to come out of the game.In comes Super Mario and on his first snap of the game,it was a pass play, and right before the camera pulls up to fallow the football down the field on the bottom right corner of my T.V I see Julius Peppers get pushed on his ass like a bullies victim…I’ve been excited about our LT ever sense.
Yep i remember him at that game, also the Texans game, he handled Mario Williams pretty darn good, i saw the potential this dude has in a couple of games that season and i must admit i got pretty excited too my brother…i remember games where jamarcus was our qb (psycotherapy hasn’t worked yet) where the line formed a good pocket for jamarcus to throw and he kept going behind the line so afraid of getting sack that they couldnt protect him anymore and the rush got to him, next play the line formed a wider pocket so he could go further behind and still be protected and jamarcus would step up in front of the line and get sacked from behind causing a fumble, u could see it in the linemens eyes and body language, they were sick and desperate, who wouldnt be?? i can understand when henderson talks about “if its a seven step drop, i know he’ll take seven steps” jamarcus was just unpredictable every play, and unless you’re someone like mike vick or roethlisberger it aint workin in the NFL with all the speedy pass rushers, Jamarcus couldnt escape a 90 year old wheelchair-riding dude with Alzheimers, how could he do it with 220-260 pound guys running at like 100 miles p/hour chasing his gigantic ass…its good to have a competent QB under center, i really wouldnt be surprised if we make the playoffs this season and you guys know that im not freaking kidding….GOOOO RAIDEERSSS!!!!
This is awesome!!
YAHOO:
The Oakland Raiders have filed a grievance against former quarterback JaMarcus Russell(notes) seeking repayment of $9.55 million, the team confirmed Thursday.
The grievance is based on the contention by the Raiders that the contract was changed at one point during Russell’s three-year stint with the organization and that he’s not allowed to keep all of the money he had collected prior to his May 7 release. Russell, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft, was guaranteed $32 million as part of a six-year contract reportedly worth $68 million.
i need a beer
I dont think we are going to win case against Russell. I know we should because of what he did in Oakland(nothing) but we wont.
This court case is won by Jamarcus Russell..
Maybe Al will learn like this and not throw away money on - D.Hall,T.Kelly,G.Wilson,K.Harris,W.Sapp,J.Porter,Javon Walker(to be on the bench), and yes, Jamarcus Russell.
Heyward Bey $$$$ is still up there too..
dude, AL WILL WIN, he owns the courthouse, he’s the master of lawsuits, after all he won one against the NFL!! if he wants he can recover jamarcus’s 39 mil, Al’s the man…
Maybe thats why he never learned to use his money wisely instead of giving it to projects and washed up players. Instead of giving the RaiderNation a new stadium, somewhere.
i wonder y Russell is not photo out anywere or doing any interviews, i think he might be on that 50cent diet untill he gets sign!!!
spawn the D will be fine! just hearing the O might be able to stay on the field so the D can rest is the BEST news. if the O perked up when gradowski came on the field last year just imagine how the D feels that the lardass is GONE!!!
defenses are always the lesser of the two when the pads are not on.when the pads are on,defenses usually win those the camp battles.the whole team in general is usually not at their best, especially when they are teamates trying not to get hurt and are not going 100% as if it’s a regular season game.to make the roster team, rookies will and should be the ones who are more aggressive.it’s too early to worry about the defense.the passing game between the QB’s/WR’s timing, especially with a new QB is what the raiders will continue to place the most emphasis on in practice.then the defense later on,then coming together late in training camp before the preseason.in each practice session a new name should appear to be doing a good job, this is called progress and this will be what the raiders and every other team looks for in a winning football team.again it’s way too early to worry about any good or bad news coming from these practices unless it’s injuries or off the field stuff and releases/cuts.i’m personally worried about the upcoming releases and cuts.the raiders have a lot of decent young players that i think will have solid NFL careers and i hope they choose the right players to keep.
